Ann-Marie, Prog. Coordinator, organized the postcard contest. Rules: Use a fair amount of the “ugly” fabric you received in the previous exchange on a 4″x6″ postcard. Design your postcard. The non-biased students at the Green Ladle chose the winners.

Kary Lanehart (Happy days ahead in Florida!)

The beginning stage of making this 1600″ jelly roll quilt is to sew ALL 48 (forty eight) 42″ strips into one very long strip (1600″).
We are working in the dining room of the Green Ladle Restaurant in Lewiston, Maine run by Chef Dan Caron.

The Maine Modern Quilters will convene in this large classroom for meetings and SewDowns on many of their Saturday meetings. The first meeting in the fall is Sat., Sept. 14th, 2013, 9:00-12:00 in Rm# 104. All quilters welcome! Guest fee is $5.00.

The Maine Modern Quilters take a break from sewing to enjoy a delicious meal made by the Culinary Arts high school students of the Lewiston Career and Technical Education program. They learn from Chef Dan Caron who has won MANY prestigious awards.
