Lots of donated baby items
On top of Hazel’s isolette cover are the 24″ quilts and “Angel Wraps” that were made by the members of Maine Modern Quilting Guild. Thank you for contributing your fabric and time!

Ann-Marie’s isolette cover
This is a side version of an isolette. The slits you see in the isolette are there so the nurses/doctors have access to the babies when they need care, or loving.
Hazel’s isolette cover
The isolette covers need a “window” in case the baby is jaundice and needs light.

A Quilter’s Gathering Quilt Show in Manchester, NH
Quite a few of us made the trekk to the Quilter’s Gathering in NH. This is just one photo from there. Can you guess how it’s made?
Baby Quilts
The following “baby” items were made for the purpose of donation to the new hospital, Maine General Medical Center, in Augusta, Maine.
The “Angel Wraps” were made for tiny babies of miscarriage. The parents of these babies are given the wraps to take home with them.
The 24″x24″ quilts were made for stillborn babies and also given to the parents to take the home with them.
Not pictured yet, but made by Joan Emerson, Ann-Marie Schechtman, Hazel Henderson, and Betsy Cannan, were 4 isolette (crib) covers for premature babies. These isolette covers keep these premie babies warm and cozy, enhancing every bit of their body and spirit to be strong, and to help them grow up to be healthy human beings.
Ann-Marie graciously opened her home so that we could get together and work on the isolette covers. Thank you so much, Ann-Marie!
All the items were delivered to MGMC NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) on November 14, 2013 by Ann-Marie and Hazel.
This endeavor was headed up by Ann-Marie and Hazel.

Cindy used a charm pack of modern fabrics plus a solid background to make this hexagon pillow. The charm pack pieces were cut into 4.5″ blocks to start with. Many points to match! That would be MODERN points!

Ellie has recently been named an “artistic” quilter by the Lewiston Art Council. She has 9 quilts hanging beautifully in the Lewiston, Maine Public Library. Ellie used Marimekko fabrics in the quilt shown.
